Feature update for CV2
ColossusCoin2.0 Version 1.2.0 has been released

ColossusCoin2 Version 1.2.0 comes with a the change of Multisend GUI which replaces the CV2 for Charity function.
Multisend allows you to send up to 100% of your Stake to multiple addresses of your choosing. A small fix to the Hashsettings has been added.

MultiSend RPC calls

multisend <command>
What is MultiSend?
MultiSend is a rebuild of what used to be called Stake For Charity (s4c)
MultiSend allows a user to automatically send a percent of their stake reward to as many addresses as you would like
The MultiSend transaction is sent when the staked coins mature
The only current restriction is that you cannot choose to send more than 100% of your stake using MultiSend

The new Colossucoin2.0 blockchain have 19.1 Billion premined coins in the first block (of which approx. 15.8 Billion were already both mined and staked by Colossuscoin (COL) holders (1/20 coin split) equaling over 313.3 Billion ColossuscoinV1(COL) to date)
Approx. 15.8 Billion Colossuscoins2.0 (CV2) will be reserved for a full swap over, this corresponds to approx. 313.5 billion total Colossuscoin (COL) supply (20:1 Colossuscoin-Colossucoin2.0 ratio)
To start the Development Fund would only be accessible by Sudo23 and Th82 with multiple layers of security but we plan on creating an online wallet with Multi-Authentication for access, and Multi-Sig for transaction approval.
Unswapped coins:
All excess ColossusCoin2.0 unclaimed coins will be distributed through BOINC community-based open-source project.  (reserve 10% for the development fund).

Colossuscoin was founded on 22 August 2013 and is a decentralized, open-source peer-to-peer (P2P) energy-efficient Internet currency that enablesfast instant payments to anyone in the world with almost no fees. It runs off the popular scrypt protocol which gives it unmatched stability and easy accessibility. Its design is public, nobody owns or controls Colossuscoin and everyone can take part.

/Mining Pools

There is no Proof-of-Work its all PoS now. PoW mining is not possible anymore.

/Reimbursement of Lost Coins
Reimbursement of all previously lost coins happend throughout the swap and up to the cut-off date. The cut-off for the swap to the new coin finished after 3 4 months. After the 4 5 months the remained coins became part of the Development and Marketing Fund managed by the Foundation.
In order to be eligiable for reimbursement you must be able to prove beyond reasonable doubt that your coins have in fact been lost.

  • The Colossuscoin Foundation helping to advance and promote Colossuscoin adoption.
  • We are working hard behind the scenes improving all areas of the foundation, a bright future lays before us, full of potential and challenges.

  • Colossuscointalk and its members work together to create a strengthened platform and improved Colossuscoin Foundation on www.Colossuscointalk.org

Q: Why should I exchange ColossusCoinV1 (COL) to Colossuscoin v2.0 (CV2)?
A: Due to the massive size of the main wallet ColossusCoin COL v1 (the old one) has multiple errors in the code, several hardforks and wallet syncing issues (peers are not to be able to connect to each other on the network). The main issue with it is the messaging system, low fees, fast stake and long minimum Prooof of Stake so to just change all of that and keep with the near 1 GB Blockchain just wouldn't make sense. The Colossuscoin COL V1 Block Chain is currently not moving and Col1.52 blockchain is stuck . The original ColossusCoin has experienced technical issues as described in detail here and here.
There are also several bugs and the Colossuscoin/V2-team could not identify the solution to such as transactions getting rejected and being hard to recover as well as Stake before Sync issues and extremely slow Block download times. So thats why the Colossuscoin/V2 team have decided to build a new blockchain (Colossuscoin2) and do a full swap for a new Blockchain (20:1 Colossuscoin-Colossucoin2.0 ratio). The ColossusCoin2.0 Blockchain is already running smoothly, very well and the ColossusCoin/V2 Development Team focus on improving the working CV2 blockchain.

Q: Do you have interest?
A: Yes. Colossuscoin2 Proof of Stake minting increases supply at a rate up to 6.5% per year. The minting reward is fair for all users. There are currently approximately 20.2 billion Colossuscoin2 in circulation. When the entire money supply grows due to the minting process, all Colossuscoin2 holders who participate in minting maintain their relative share of the network.  PoS verifies users’ coins to secure the network and process transactions. This ensures that transactions are speedy and this ensures decentralization, as anyone holding some of the currency is part of network. The only way for new Colossuscoin2 to be created is through staking by users, for which they will receive the 6.5%, decentralized, compound interest yearly.

The introduction of Coinbase’s Multisig Vault is huge news for the Bitcoin community. Multisig transactions are a cornerstone of Bitcoin security – especially since pay-to-script hash (P2SH) transactions were standardized in Bitcoin Improvement Proposal (BIP) 16. Coinbase is one of the most popular and easy to use ways to get, store and spend bitcoin. Many first-time Bitcoin users will start by buying coins through Coinbase, so making the security of multisig transactions available to these users is good news for everyone that wants to see Bitcoin succeed.

There are many use cases for multisig wallets. Earlier this year, the Copay multisig wallet from BitPay brought an easy-to-use multisig solution to Bitcoin users wishing to share a wallet among several people. Copay differentiated itself from other multisig options — such as GreenAddress and BitGo — by giving users a wallet that does not rely on a third party. Instead, all Copay data is processed and stored locally. The Coinbase Multisig Vault does support sharing keys among several people, but that is not the main purpose the wallet is designed for. Instead, the main point of it is that users do not need to trust Coinbase.

Cryptocurrency Must Be Trustless

While Coinbase has been one of the most popular ways to get, store and spend bitcoin since the service launched, there has always been vocal opposition to online wallets. Trusting third Bitcoin market roundup Coinbase Multisig Vault Brings Together Security and UsabilityBitcoin market roundupBitcoin-market-roundupCoinbaseparties to secure bitcoin funds goes against the very benefits that make cryptocurrency attractive.

Private keys stored on a live server are susceptible to security breaches and abuse by service administrators. So far, Coinbase has proven itself secure and trustworthy, but that is no reason to voluntarily give up the safety and security that defines cryptocurrency. The Coinbase Multisig Vault puts that security and safety back in the hands of users by putting them in complete control of their private keys.

A minimum of three private keys are generated for Coinbase Multisig Vaults. One of these keys is only known to the user, and one of these keys is encrypted with a password. Since two keys are necessary for completing a transaction and Coinbase only knows one key, this means that Coinbase has no control over bitcoins that are stored in a Multisig Vault. Even if a Coinbase server were broken into, hackers could not gain enough information to steal any funds stored in Multisig Vaults.

Not only does this take control of funds away from Coinbase, it also enables Coinbase users to make transactions without involving them. The open source Coinbase multisig tool ( https://github.com/coinbase/multisig-tool ) gives users a way to send funds to any Bitcoin address without even accessing Coinbase.

Usability is definitely one of the features currently keeping Bitcoin out of the mainstream. Services like Coinbase go a long way towards solving the user-friendliness problem, but they sacrifice some security along the way. The new Multisig Vault does not compromise on usability. If users lose their password, they can recover funds using their private user key. If users lose their private user key, funds can be recovered using their password-protected shared key. If users have trouble with Coinbase, they can conduct transactions using their shared key and user key, without having to deal with Coinbase at all.

Not Perfect But Still Important

For bitcoin users with hardcore security requirements, the Coinbase Multisig Vault is not the perfect solution. Using the Multisig Vault still requires users to trust the JavaScript code delivered to the browser by Coinbase. Along with this, private keys are generated while online; a situation that will never match the security of generating keys on a trusted air-gapped machine.

Despite these drawbacks, the Coinbase Multisig Vault is still a serious development that will contribute to further Bitcoin adoption. Before the Multisig Vault, Bitcoin users either had to put in the time and effort to acquire technical expertise or they had to trust a third party to safely store their funds. With only these two options available, a huge amount of people are left with no practical way to use Bitcoin. Bitcoin early adopters are enthusiastic and technical, but for Bitcoin to grow, it needs to reach a skeptical and non-technical user base. The Coinbase Multisig Vault is a fairly easy to understand bridge between completely trusting a third party and completely trusting your own technical competence.

With any luck, Coinbase will not be the final word on bringing together usability and security. The greater the number of competing online wallets, the better things will be for Bitcoin users. While Coinbase competitors are something to look forward to, the company deserves recognition for fantastic efforts to make Bitcoin available to mainstream users, which benefits everyone in the Bitcoin economy.

TheMightyX has similar ideas to build a self-sustaining system, so let's have a closer look at this:

So given that problem of people moving on… What plans are in place to ensure that PMP is self-sustaining?

TheMightyX – "The plan is to have a PreminePlus foundation, which allocates funding from a (low percentage) block donation, taken out of the block reward. This is a frictionless donation. We are saying “hey, heres $50 worth of coins for mining”, but instead we are saying “heres $48 worth of coins for mining, and I’m going to give $2 to the development fund”. With this, we can build a self-sustaining system.

The great thing is with this system, the foundation can hire real, professional, experienced programmers, and pay them a salary out of the developer fund each month. If one developer decides to leave? no big deal, the foundation just hires another and pays them a monthly salary out of the block donation fund. In this way we can be a deflationary, self-sustaining system with continual development, which means good investment for investors and great currency with lots of features for users.

The other beautiful part about this system is we can shave off lets say 2%, and 1.5% of that goes to the development foundation, and another .5% of this unseen, unfelt donation could go to a charity address controlled by the foundation and every month the community could decide on a different charity to fund! WWF one month, Unicef the next, then maybe Greenpeace. We can enact real, serious and positive change in the world, not just the cryptocurrency world, I mean the whole world. Unlike most coins where a 1-2% of coins are set aside to donate to a charity. The coins get sold and a couple hundred dollars are donated to charity, then thats it. Nothing else, its over. Can’t we do better? our system affords repeated donations to any charity every month, there is no limit and no end to the good things we can do."

Bitcoin and Alternative Currencies / Cryptonite and the Mini-Blockchain
« on: November 02, 2014, 12:36:57 PM »
What do you guys think about the Mini-Blockchain-Concept/ Implementation?

>>"The mini-blockchain scheme is a variant of the Bitcoin protocol which aims to eliminate the need for storing a full blockchain and overcome the “blockchain bloat” problem. The mini-blockchain is essentially like any other Bitcoin-based blockchain except that old blocks can be pruned from the chain. The block headers are kept as a PoW record but all old transactions can be discarded. Address balances are managed separately in a hash tree structure called the account tree which is essentially a self-contained balance sheet designed to keep track of all non-empty addresses. New blocks act upon the entries in the account tree to perform transactions and the master hash of the account tree is embedded into the block headers to ensure consistency and agreement between nodes."<<
